Insightful Tips For Successful Future!!!

Last Saturday (30th Oct 2010), i attended the CPA Australia Undergraduate Conference that organized by MMU CPA Assoc. Some insightful tips are being given by the Maybank Moneytree's CEO, Mr Michael Rayes.
I feel it was worthy to be there for almost 8 hours since someone would be strongly motivated to plan for success in our future pathways. Below are some of the tips to be shared:

1) Degree Cert. only brings you to the door of interview, and it is, that's it!!!
2) First interpretation would be made within the 3 seconds when you are entering into the interview room. If you are unable to prove your capabilities in the next 15 seconds (if the earlier interpretation is NEGATIVE), you are out of mind of the interviewer!
3) The only different between a Cambidge U student and Local U student is "the degree of stupidity", and "inreactiveness"!
4) Stupidity is DIFFERENT from "huminity" (being humble when not answering lecturer's Q)!
5) Walk of from "part of problem" to "part of solution"!
6) First thing to change yourself is to "take yourself seriously"!
7) Success will not happen, it is up to you to make it happen.
8) We are young, but we are not young for too long.
9) 95% of people do not get what tehy want in life, simple because they do not know what they want in life.
10) Time that is not used for building "expanding networking, skill and knowledge, health, wealth, spirituality" is a waste of time.
11) Have a clear idea of where you are going and make progress towards your defined goals everyday.
12) You will never succeed if you keep your business as a secret.

13) Business that is not making enough noises will not succeed.
14)Add more important people in your "friend list" compared to last year.
15) The only way to leverage your business is by using "IT".
16) Don't reinvent the wheel. Just change the way people doing things!
17) Save your money like hell!
18) Work hard, be objectivity and practice professionalism!
19) AUDIT should be ALL YOU DO IS THINK rather than ALL YOU DO ID TICK!
20) Yam Cha with friends is not a way of building networking, it is rather a bad habit!

Enjoy our sharing...thanks, and See You tomorrow!

Im stressed!

This week is my 2nd week for the brand new trimester. Yet, I'm stressed!
Its not a big matter for registering for 7 subjects(since marketing students are doing this for the past few trimesters), but there are some killing subjects coming over us.
Strategic Marketing is the worse subject ever in my MMU life...
Our beloved lecturer placed a high expectation on us due to majority of the class are final year students (but I'm not), sadly...
We have a total of cases, that needed to be presented within 10 weeks. Its not a big matter!
The problem is we do not know how to analyze the case...seemed very miserable for the first case presentation early in the morning, today.
What can i do? Just swim in the sea even I'm not a whale lo...adaptable seems not a simple word for a cow anymore...
2.30pm...going to attend for my B2B lecture

I love my mum...

Today is a holiday. Work up very early at 8.00am, took breakfast with dad and mum. Then, i accompanied my mum for her eye medical check-up. My mum was worrying about her eye sight, because recently she said got a bit blurr blurr. In the dark inspection room...i could see my mum was very nervous. Then, the specialist gave my mums' eyes some droplet of liqiud, and asked my mum to close her eyes, and rest.
Then, i looked at my mum...Mummy, you old already lo, because of us, you work very hard...we understand, we realize, we feel...don't worry, i will accompany you till you very old. Love you!
Then, my mum entered the room again...after some tedius checking, the specialist said that my mum's eye sight is very fine...and my mum looked relaxed...
Then, we went for shopping, lunching...
Hmm...this is how i spend my holiday...
See yea...now its time for outing again!

Malacca Monorail Services Upgrades State's Status

For Malaccan, we have been long-waited for the RM 16 million Malacca Monorail Service, and finally, it was launched yesterday afternoon in conjunction with the declaration of the Historical City as a so called "Developed State". According to Malacca Chief Minister, the new transportation service is another milestone for Malacca of developing a first class public transportation system. He mentioned that the service is on track with the historical state attaining the "developed state" status accorded by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The developed state status was achieved after Malacca had met 29 of the 32 criteria set by the OECD. OECD is a grouping of world's 33 richest countries with the highest per capita GDP,which headquatered in Paris. In the list, Turkey is the country with the lowest per capita GNP at US$13,000 (RM 49,000) while Malacca is at US$15,578.
I was curious about the effort of Malacca government in achieving the status of developed state, and the goal for offering Malacca Monorail Service is questionable for achieving that status! First, who uses the service? Of course, is tourist, its for tourism purposes. Do you think as local citizens we will take the service as a medium of public transportation at early of 7.30am and take again at the late of evening? Of course NO...because it is EXPENSIVE...RM10 per route. Let's count: A local citizen need to spend RM 400 (20 working days) if he or she uses the service...better than taking buses, right? So, the service is not to upgrade the standard of living among local citizens. Secondly, how far the service could solve the problem of traffic jamp in the city by looking the max capicity of 10 passenegrs per route, and it does not take you far which is only 1.6km. If your workplace located further than the route, what for?Funny right? The places coverage, rate and capacity needed to be restudied!
I hope for the state coming projects, the state government should not "do something to achieve something"...but to "do something to solve problem"...then only the state could be "developed".
